Job Description

• Ensure proper operation and perform maintenance of all electric parts of the Cranes, other Lifting Appliances and the entire Electrical plant.
• Focus on the electrical/automation/navigation side of the vessel’s equipment. May also carry out any mechanical work related to electrical parts like motors, bearings, housings etc. All jobs shall be coordinated with the Chief Engineer.
• Follow the advice/instruction given by the Ship’s Vessel Manager regarding the upkeep and maintenance of Cranes and equipment.
• Responsible for the performance and the reporting of maintenance work orders which are assigned to the Electro Technician in the Planned Maintenance System (AMOS).
• Verify that the Cranes are ready for operation prior to the commencement of any cargo operation.
• Check insulation/earth failure on a daily basis and rectify without delay if any failure is found.
• Any other tasks according to job description or instructions.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Proficiency – Electro-Technical Officer STCW Reg. III/6 or Certificate of Proficiency – Electro-Technical Rating STCW Reg. III/7
• Certificate of Proficiency – Basic Training
• Certificate of Proficiency – Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
• Sailed at least 12 months in rank as Electro Technician or equivalent
