- In emergencies, operate the ship’s communication equipment (GMDSS) according to the Master’s instruction and applicable regulations.
- Inspect and maintain the condition of the Safety, Security, Lifesaving and Oil-spill Pollution Prevention equipment and keep a good recording system for its maintenance, as well as ensure regular updates in AMOS.
- Update Emergency Plan and Station Bill Card for Fire and Abandon Ship, with approval from the Master.
- Participate, implement and follow up on the Safety, Security and Quality Management System.
- Conduct safety and security checks in accordance with the checklist provided by the Company in dealing with Illegal Drugs and Stowaways.
- Check gangway watchman and authorization of visitors, during the tour of duty.
